Health and Safety & Risk Assessment Training


PCL is a Nationwide training provider offering a complete range of fully certificated health and safety courses at your premises.

 Our course fee is £275 per workshop for 18 delegates. All courses come with all of the tools necessary for delegates to use in their individual work place together with a FREE e-mail & telephone help line to provide post-training support.

When two or more courses are booked for any one day (over any permutation of subjects (Health and Safety and Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Fire Warden / Fire Marshal, DSE Risk Assessment) the fee for our courses falls to £195 per workshop for 18 delegates PLUS we provide our 'Competent Person Service' FREE of charge for a full year following our training. HEALTH AND SAFETY & RISK ASSESSMENT TRAINING

COURSE OVERVIEW

INTRODUCTION

We provide the base level instruction and then delegates form two health and safety risk assessment teams to assess multifaceted workplace scenarios. The competition gets intense no matter how many times our tutor says its just an exercise!

This training is provided in multi-media format using projected power point and practical presentation mediums and is fully certificated on a delegate to delegate basis by our MIOSH RSP consultant who has a higher degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Loughborough University and a further higher degree in Risk Management from Leicester University.


AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To develop  an appreciation of  the  evolution of health & safety law
  • Appreciate the legal duties of employees & employers
  • An overview of your responsibilities for contractors, agency personnel, visitors and others
  • To understand the different types of law that impact on health and safety e.g. common, civil & criminal law
  • Gain an understanding of the penalties for breaching the above legislative construct
  • Understand the language and methodology of risk assessment
  • Understand how to practically carry out risk assessments in a work place
  • Be introduced to practical work place tools that delegates will use when they return to their individual work places

PRACTICAL EXERCISES

Delegates breakout into two teams to undertake real life risk assessments where they build safe systems of work, method statements and consider personal protective equipment (PPE) and training needs. This part of our course is as practical as  courses get!
