MANAGING SAFELY

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course has been designed for those who need to get a grasp on health & safety management issues PAINLESSLY & QUICKLY! It is provided in plain English and is very easy to understand. The course is both highly entertaining and VERY informative with overviews being intertwined with sound practical tips and examples...........no one will fall asleep in this course!

We provide the base level instruction and then delegates form two teams to assess multifaceted workplace scenarios. There is no time to think.......just do! from assessing Display Screen Equipment through to General Risk Assessment, COSHH, Manual Handling, Fire Safety to building a Health & Safety Committee........ this course is all systems go!

This training is provided in multi-media format using projected power point and practical presentation mediums and is fully certificated on a delegate to delegate basis by our MIOSH RSP consultant who has a higher degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Loughborough University and a further higher degree in Risk Management from Leicester University.

•  Common, civil & criminal law
  
• Risk assessment requirements of The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999
  
• How to carry out health & safety risk assessments
  
• An understanding of Display Screen Equipment (DSE) requirements & how to carry out DSE risk assessments
•  Health  ansurveillanced RSI / Work Related Upper Limb Disorders
  
• Manual handling legal requirements, how to carry out Manual Handling risk assessments and appreciate ergonomic preventative strategies
  
• Be introduced to The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and COSHH risk assessment
• Fire safety in the workplace
• Appointing a Competent Person in law - The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 - Regulation 7
  

Delegates  breakout into teams  throughout this workshop in order to undertake  real life risk  assessments where they build safe systems of work, method statements and consider personal protective equipment (PPE) and training needs.
