Display Screen Equipment - DSE Training

PCL is a Nation-wide training provider offering a complete range of fully certificated health and safety courses at your premises.  Our course fee is £275 per workshop for 18 delegates. All courses come with all of the tools necessary for delegates to use in their individual work place together with a FREE e-mail & telephone help line to provide post-training support.


When two or more courses are booked for any one day (over any permutation of subjects (Health and Safety and Risk Assessment, Manual Handling, Fire Warden / Fire Marshal, DSE Risk Assessment) the fee for our courses falls to £195 per workshop for 18 delegates PLUS we provide our 'Competent Person Service' FREE of charge for a full year following our training. DISPLAY SCREEN EQUIPMENT & DSE RISK ASSESSMENT TRAINING

COURSE OVERVIEW

INTRODUCTION

We provide the base level instruction and then delegates carry out 'live' DSE Risk Assessments in a real work place.

This training is provided in multi-media format using projected power point, video and practical presentation mediums and is fully certificated on a delegate to delegate basis by our MIOSH RSP consultant who has a higher degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management from Loughborough University and a further higher degree in Risk Management from Leicester University.


AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To develop  an appreciation of  the  evolution of computer equipment & employers legislative obligations  in the work place
  • Appreciate the common causes & types of injury associated with Display Screen Equipment
  • An overview of preventative strategies including health surveillance
  • Consider the 'perfect' work station set-up
  • Gain an understanding of current legislative requirements and how to appease these requirements
  • Understand  how to carry out  work station risk  assessment
  • Consider the litigious claims that have been  fsuccessfulollowing RSI or Work Related Upper Limb Disorder claims

PRACTICAL EXERCISES

Delegates will carry out 'live' DSE Risk  Assessments and consider ergonomic issues of operators. This  part of our course  is as practical as  courses get!
